The assassination of World Central Kitchen employees is a disgrace to humanity

“Together for Justice” denounced the Israeli savage attack on a relief convoy in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of seven workers from the “World Central Kitchen” organisation as the convoy was departing a central Gaza warehouse.

The attack sent a message to the entire world, not just the relief organisation, that Israel does not respect international law or human rights and that anyone who chooses to assist the innocent people of Palestine and oppose the brutality of the occupation risks being targeted.

Seven workers of the World Central Kitchen convoy were killed in an Israeli raid on a relief convoy vehicle in central Gaza on Monday, April 1. The World Central Kitchen convoy was in Gaza to confront the famine brought on by the Israeli occupation siege.

In a statement shared on April 2, WCK identified the seven workers as Saifeddin Issam Avad Abutaha, 25, of Palestine; Lalzawmi “Zomi” Frankcom, 43, of Australia; Damian Soból, 35, of Poland; Jacob Flickinger, 33, of the United States and Canada; John Chapman, 57, of the United Kingdom; James ‘Jim’ Henderson, 33, of the U.K.; and James Kirby, 47, of the U.K.

Targeting an international relief organisation with members of different nationalities means that Israel is challenging all countries all over the world, demonstrating its disdain for human values, and endorsing the occupying forces’ contempt for international laws, treaties, and conventions. This is particularly true since it ensures its impunity, as major governments have refused to hold any Israeli official accountable while continuing to arm, supply, and support this brutal occupation.
