Shireen Abu Akleh’s Assassination Is a Clear Example of the Israeli Savage Reality

Together for Justice sends its sincere condolences to the family of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot and killed by Israeli gunfire, early Wednesday.

Abu Akleh’s murder should not go unpunished, as it really needs an international firm position that achieves justice for Abu Akleh and put an end to the Israeli cruel crimes and human rights violations.

Eyewitnesses affirmed Abu Akleh was among a group of journalists when she was directly targeted while covering Israeli raids into Jenin city in the West Bank.

She was shot without any prior notice below the ear in an area that was not covered by the helmet she was wearing, despite wearing a vest with ‘PRESS’ insignia

The sources pointed out that no gunmen were in the area except of the Israeli soldiers who prevented an ambulance vehicle from transferring her to hospital.

Abu Aqleh’s murder is a planned assassination aiming to terrorize journalists, break their will, and silence the voices that always expose Israeli crimes.

The International Criminal Court must act immediately to prosecute those responsible for Abu Akleh’s assassination and to open comprehensive and independent investigations into the Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people, including children, the elderly, journalists, and medics.

The international community must intervene urgently to take the necessary measures to put an end to the Israeli crimes that crossed all red lines.
